#12 Single Hand Mudras / Asamyuta Hastas

Study Materials

In Bharatanatayam there are about 32 single hand root mudras called as Asamyukta Hasta...One of the most striking features of Indian classical dance is the use of hand gestures. Actually speaking in order to convey meaning and expressions, hand gestures make a prominent existence. However hand gestures known as nritta hastas are employed for the sake of beauty and decorative purposes while performing nritta.

2014 Nanyang CC's Community Sharing Session

Song title: Meera Dholna Dancer's: Pushpaarpanam Dance Group Directed, Co-ordinated and Choreograph by: K.Pushpalatha
Sharing session (knowledge) is not about giving people something, or getting something from them. That is only valid for information sharing.
Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes."
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; dancing together is success."
